Cēsis - Sigulda

The point of departure is our Camping - Boat Centre in Cīrulīši. Having sailed 2 km you will arrive at the water tourists’ camping “Kvēpene”. There you can visit the Kvēpene castle mound and the oak which is a prototype of that which is drawn on the bank-note of 5 Latvian lats. Enjoy the Briedīšu Cliff after 4,5 km and the small islands throughout the river.

Līgatne - Sigulda

38 km. A journey by a canoe boat lasts 8-10 hours. The route is quite calm, at Sigulda the flow becomes very slow. Along the way on the left bank watch the Jumprava Cliff and visit the water tourists’ camping “Katrīna”, but on the right shore - the Katrīna Cliff.

Jāņrāmis - Cēsis

9km, the shortest route of 2-3 hours by the canoe boats. See a small riffle and the bridge right after the water tourists’ camping „Jāņrāmis”. After 4 km of journey enjoy the most beautiful cliffs of the Gauja – Ērgļi Cliffs on the left bank, the walking trail is equipped there. Take pleasure also in Vaidava fall on the right shore.

Cēsis - Līgatne

(16 km along the river). In Cīrulīši over 2 km after the start you will arrive at the water tourists’ camping “Kvēpene”. There you can visit the Kvēpene castle mound and the oak which is a prototype of that which is drawn on the bank-note of 5 Latvian lats.

Valmiera - Sietiņiezis

20 km, the 1-day route for a canoe boat at an easy pace, including pit stops. If you go fast, the journey will last for 5-6 hours. On the left bank of the river you will see the rowing slalom centre. The route includes a complicated riffle and runs through the town.

Aņņi - Spicrāmis

20 km, the journey may last for 5 hours with a canoe boat or for 1 day, if you go very slowly. The river’s stream is unhurried there. Enjoy the woods around and a long isle in the river bed, and watch the water birds

Spicrāmis - Strenči

18 km, the route is tailored for 6 hours with a canoe boat as the flow is very leisure there. Take pleasure in the pine forests on the banks and the rock at the fall of Vija on the left side of the river. This is a silent route with typical banks of the Gauja river without any special surprises.

Strenči - Valmiera

20 km, the route is tailored for 1 day with a canoe boat. The classical route along the Gauja. The river is wide and with many swimming places there. There are 6 riffles of Strenči on the route, the strongest of which is situates at the Krāčupe fall. After overpassing the riffles the river is slow again.

Vecate - Mazsalaca

12km. A 3-4 hour trip by a canoe boat. The river is quite narrow there, but the flow is leisure. The offered interval is very calm and silent. Enjoy the flowering meadows and fields on the river banks. The route is suitable for those who have just begun to acquire rowing skills.

Mazsalaca - Staicele

40km. The route is tailored for around 2 days journey by a canoe boat with slow rowing, at an easy pace and with pit stops at the most attractive sites. We believe this is one of the most beautiful routes of the river tourism in Latvia. The river landscapes are extremely picturesque, particularly along the Mazsalaca Nature Park where you may see the caves and cliffs.

Staicele - Salacgrīva

45km. The route is tailored for a leisure 2-day trip by the canoe boats. Enjoy the steep river banks and sand outcrops. Further on the current becomes faster, the rapids begin to appear there. Along the route there is a good standard rest site “MAČKALNI”.

Cēsis - Līgatne

(16 km along the river). In Cīrulīši, 2 km after the start you will arrive at the water tourists’ camping “Kvēpene”. There you can visit the Kvēpene castle mound and the oak which is a prototype of that which is drawn on the bank-note of 5 Latvian lats.

Jāņrāmis - Līgatne

1st day. You will pass along the small riffle and the bridge right after the water tourists’ camping „Jāņrāmis”. After 4 km of journey enjoy the most beautiful cliffs of the Gauja – Ērgļi Cliffs on the left bank, a walking trail is equipped there.  Take pleasure also in Vaidava fall on the right shore.
