The Centre of Cēsis / camping Žagarkalns/ Āraiši

This is an easy cycling route because of the flat relief. Most of the track is plain asphalt road. When you get to the Pleskava highway, you have to follow the indication ”Āraišu ezerpils”(Āraiši castle) which is on the left side of the road. Take the opportunity to have a refreshing swim in the Āraiši Lake! When you have visited the Āraiši castle, go forward for approx.1 km, and then turn right near the boarding-school. Soon you will see a windmill on the top of the hill. The beautiful, panoramic view is worthy of some effort! A road goes down from the windmill and by choosing a trail that goes a little to the left you will soon be back on the Pleskava motorway, close to Cēsis beltway; whereas if you choose the trail turning right you will find yourself near the Āraiši church.
